About Fusion Studio

Where curiosity becomes capability.

Fusion Studio is a creative learning and making space in Timaru, South Canterbury, supporting people to discover, upskill and create through art, design and community.

A studio for creative expansion

Fusion Studio supports people to extend what they think is possible creatively. That might mean learning a new process, developing confidence with software or materials, exploring visual ideas, or finding a way back into making after time away.

The studio brings together printmaking, drawing, digital design, illustration, small-run publishing, community workshops and experimental making. It is grounded in access, belonging, curiosity and hands-on creative practice.

Art

Printmaking, drawing, mixed media and experimental processes for people wanting to make, explore and develop their own creative language.

Design

Practical visual communication, digital tools, branding, illustration and layout support for creative and community-based projects.

Workshops

Accessible, hands-on workshops that help people build confidence, capability and connection through making.

Community

A creative space built around participation, experimentation and belonging — not perfection, gatekeeping or specialist language.

Led by Rach Winter

Fusion Studio is led by artist, designer and educator Rach Winter. Her practice moves across printmaking, digital design, illustration, teaching, community arts and experimental making.

Her work is shaped by a belief that creativity expands when people are given access to tools, encouragement, structure, and room to test ideas without needing to know the outcome before they begin.

“Fusion is the method. Creative expansion is the outcome.”
